30 DBC Day 2

Okay I failed at this challenge already so now I have to catch up. I was really going to be on top of this, but then I got food poisoning the 2nd day so now I am going to continue it today.

The meaning behind my blog name is actually a really story. See back in 2004 I still lived with my parents in CA and had a regular Monday through Friday job that I wasn't really happy, but heck it paid the bills. What more can a single girl ask for right except for a million dollars and a man that loved her for who she was and didn't try to change her in any way.

My mom one day was outside in our front yard and saw a stray mommy cat with her kittens and noticed that she was moving them from the roof our house to another safe location. My mom thought nothing of it because we had strays in the neighborhood and just thought maybe the mommy cat was getting too warm up there with them. The next couple of weeks went by and then one night after it got dark my mom heard a little kitten meowing. At first, I thought she was going nuts and she then told me I am going outside. That is when she found this really small kitten sitting there in the grass crying for his mommy.

My mom brought it into the house and noticed that it's eyes were still closed and it still had the umbilical cord attached. Us being the cat lovers that we are said we can't leave this little guy outside all by himself, so with a little coaxing with my dad we kept this little guy. When we found him his ears were folded over a little bit, but all of the sudden they popped up like a mouse's ears did and that is how he got the nickname of looking like a mouse. We found out through my mom's boss that Meechi means cat it Kechwan and we thought it was perfect.

For the next 2 months I helped bottle feed this cat every night like it was my baby. He would sleep with me and wake me up when he got hungry. Now it is 6 years later and he still wants to be a baby. He is a big 15 pound baby but whenever I go back to visit my parents he is there waiting for me to snuggle every night with me.

30 Day Blog Challenge

I have honestly been avoiding blogging.

Tragic, right?

Well, with the madness in my life lately, I haven't had much I have really wanted to blog about.

And yet, I miss it.

While on Facebook, I noticed my friend Ashleigh has made a few posts on this 30 Day Blog Challenge. It looks like a lot of fun, and a great little distraction. The original blog came from Katie at Katie's Journey which is where I got this following list of blog topics for the next 30 days:

Just Enough Time

Well the time has come that I will be doing my last entry from this computer and the next time I do another entry will be when I am in WA. Lots has been going on since I wrote in this blog last. My replacement has done a great job in learning my job and I feel comfortable enough to leave the company and not feel guilty. My company gave me a bridal shower last Thursday and I must say that Alejandro and I are truly blessed and very thankful. On top of that I had a small "Anchors Away" party at a house sitting client of mine and we got some really nice stuff at that party also.
I never thought I would ever say this about the company I work for now. I am going to miss everyone that I have been in contact with each the last 5 1/2 years. It is has been a hard week for me and I know the next two days is going to be even harder. After saying goodbye to the people I work with everyday, then it will be time to say goodbye to my parents. I know I will see them in June, but this is the first time I am leaving the nest to so speak.
Well I should get going now. Until next time when I am settled in WA....

Update and Lots Of Work

I thought I would take a chance to update this site on all that has been happening. As you can tell we had a great time at the Space Needle for a late Valentine's Day dinner a couple of weeks ago. I am going there again this weekend, so I can leave some more stuff up there and spend sometime with him I thought. Well he was changed to another section and they have to work this weekend. Which sucks for him because he just worked this past weekend and his chief said tough. The good thing is that he is off Friday and he is going to get sometime off on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon to take me to the airport. March 19th, I didn't get to finish this entry before I left for the weekend, so I thought I would continue it now. I had a nice relaxing weekend. He did get sometime off this weekend for me so that was nice. We bought a bed on friday and boy is it nice to sleep in.
I am now getting ready for the big move and my going away party this coming Sunday that I have known and house sat for a long time is giving it to me. I started packing up my office a little bit ago of all my personal stuff. Well I should get back to work now. I will keep you updated as soon as I can. Until next time...

SO MUCH GOING ON

So much has happened since I updated this website, that I thought I better do it now. April 6th will be my last day working for Ganz. I have been with this company for almost 6 years now and it is going to be hard, but I am glad that I am leaving when I am. They have found a replacement for me which will make the transition a lot easier because she will be able to shadow me until I do leave. Hopefully they will start looking for someone to replace her before I leave so she can start training that person and all. I plan on moving to WA around April 9th only a couple of days after I leave Ganz and that is because starting April 19th Alejandro will be out to sea for 3 weeks.
My office manager just threw me off by telling me that the company wants to give me a Bridal Shower. I am very surprised by that since I won't be getting married right after I leave the company. I am really flattered by this and honored that they are doing this for me. I guess almost working for the company 6 years helps that.
I will try to make it a point to update this more. I need to try to get some more work done before I leave for the day. Until next time...

It's Official

What a way to celebrate the Holidays. I am officially off the market now. I got engaged December 23rd at California Adventures and not Disneyland like I wanted. The place that we had reservations for was there instead of Disneyland. Also by the time that it happened we were so tired of walking around and also double checking to make sure the ring was in my purse that we just decided.
I think what makes it even better is the fact that this great couple got engaged also this Christmas. This is my sister and her now fiancé, my future Brother-In-Law Bryan. I was the only one that knew that they were going to be engaged by Christmas this year and we had a wonderful Holiday. My wedding is going to be August 25th(hopefully?) of this year. Their wedding is going to be sometime in 2008. They haven't set a date yet. Alejandro had a great time with my family around the Holidays. In fact, he felt really comfortable with everyone and I am glad that he felt that way because he was making a big stink of it before hand. My family really likes him and even if they didn't, then they don't have to be at our wedding.
I know the other thing that made it special was that my cousin Stephanie and her son Nicholas showed up on Christmas Day for the 1st time in over 10 years. She looks great and everyone accepted her like I knew they would. I know they were so happy to see her and that she was there for the holidays. See when her parents got divorced it was a big mess, but the most important thing is that she is back in our lives now and that is all that matters.

A couple of days before New Years Alejandro and I drove back up to WA. We made a stop at my Uncle John and Aunt Diane's house in Sonora and stayed one night. That was a very nice visit and they got to know him a little bit more. I think he was more surprised by them opening up their door to us for one night, so we could get a good nights rest. We made it into WA almost a whole day late, but we did have a nice drive and we didn't kill each other.

New Year's Eve we laid low and that was because we were both really tired from the trip. I made him dinner that night and then we just enjoyed each others company the rest of the night. New Year's Day we stayed at home for a little bit and then went to the Woodland Park Zoo. It was a cold day that day but we had a nice time and it was worth it to go and see another Zoo and get out of his apartment for a little bit.

The last day I was there he had to work, but his co-worker let him leave after lunch so we got some last minute time together. I also spent most of the day cooking and cleaning the apartment a little bit so that helped keep me busy. Well I should end this. Until next time...

What A View

Isn't this view beautiful. I took this on my trip in Washington with Alejandro. I also used it as a Xmas card this year and I thought I would share it with you all.
So much is going on in my life right now that I don't know where to start. I am anticipating my life changing event on Saturday at Disneyland where Alejandro is going to propose to me. I have seen a picture of the ring and I think it absolutely perfect and he couldn't have picked a better ring. It is exactly what I really wanted. I let him pick it out and boy did he do a nice job at it. Also, me taking him to my family and introducing him as my fiancé. I am pretty sure they will accept him, but the waiting is killing me. I am also nervous about the 18 hour drive that he is going to be taking this Thursday and the same next Friday when we both drive back up there. It will be very interesting how we are when we get into WA.
Well I should get going now. Until next time...

What A Trip

As you can tell I had a wonderful time for Thanksgiving Weekend. It did snow but this picture wasn't taken near his house. This was actually taken up at Steven's Pass which is about 2 hours from his place. We drove up there because he wanted to show me snow and boy did I love it. I got some great pictures and I am pretty sure I am going to be using one of them for a Christmas card this year. I experienced having to drive in the snow and then on top of that falling because it was so slippery up there. This picture was the only one that I got of both of us the entire weekend but we had so much fun and actually did so much each day that I was there we were exhausted by the time we got home.

Little did we know all we had to do was wake up Sunday morning to this picture. When we woke up the morning after we went up to Steven's Pass he went outside to get the newspaper and we woke up to a 1/4 of an inch on the ground and snow falling. I have seen it snow before but nothing like what you see in this picture. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to move up there in April.
We had a major fight on Sunday and to be honest I thought we were going to be over but he told me what made him come back was that I loved you and that we put too much into this relationship to let it end now. I am really glad that didn't happen because I think I would be devistated if that happened. I am getting ready to make a phone call to him, so I better go now. Until next time...

Upcoming Plans

I thought I better get a quick note out before I get busy with work this week since we have a short week with it being Thanksgiving on Thursday. Everything is going great with Alejandro even though sometimes he drives me nuts with surprises and such. I am going up there on Thursday afternoon to spend the weekend with him. He has to work Thanksgiving day, but he has the rest of the weekend off so this will be a perfect opportunity to spend sometime with him. The nice thing is that he will drop me off at the airport on his way into work on Monday, so I won't have to worry about getting to the airport in time. Yes, it might be a little earlier than I have to be there, but it is better than having to pay for a car or a cab to the airport.
Right now I am having a heck of a day with a sinus headache and being on this computer is not helping me. I am going to go ahead and finish this entry and when I get back from Washington I will have lots more to share with you so I will just fill you in then.
Until next time...

Great Couple of Months

As you can probably tell everything is going awesome with Alejandro. He made my birthday the best I have had in a long time. He took me to Monterey Bay area and I have been wanting to do that since I was a little kid and my dream finally came true. I wasn't that impressed with the Aquarium up there but the Whale watching trip we went on was amazing and I will never forget that trip. As you can tell in the picture to the right that we did see whale and in fact we saw a total of 4 and they were just amazing. The most beautiful animals in the sea and they are so peaceful. We saw Humpback Whales which I have never seen out in the wild and in captivity and these guys we could hear their calls which just blew me out of the way.
As his trip comes to an end, I realize how much I love this guy and I really think I have found my guy that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I am going up to Washington next month over Thanksgiving weekend and I am so excited. He has to work that day but told me that he would pick me up from the airport after work. The nice thing is that he doesn't have to work the rest of the weekend, so he is going to show me a little bit more of Seattle than what I saw the last time. We are going to be going to Balboa Lake today after he picks me up from work and we are just going to be enjoying our time together that we have left.
Work is very busy right now and we are in the middle of a buying trip so you know what that means. On top of that we are down our office manager at the moment so I am doing most of the work while the other person is doing the easier worksheets and that just pists me off but what can I do about it. The good thing is that I have a guy that loves me and treats me the way I want to be treated.
Well I should get back to work so I don't get into trouble. Until next time...

Great Friends and More

What can I say about this picture. As you can tell Andy, Alejandro and
I are finally in a picture together after all these years. When I picked up Alejandro from the airport last Friday I knew it was right to feel the way I have been feeling about him. I wasn't nervous or anything. I just felt safe and happy to see him. The reunion with Andy didn't happen until Sunday evening, but they were such nut balls when they saw each other and all the nervousness that was coming up to that minute just was pushed aside once they saw each other. I am so lucky to have them both in my lives again and I know they are happy to be talking to each other again.
I had a great weekend with him and the friends and family that met him when he was here approved me going out with him and starting up again what we had 13 years ago. All I know is that it feels like we are just picking up where we left off back then. The only difference is that we are both adults and more feelings are coming out now then they did back then. My friend Mary told me that I am so happy when I am around him and just in general. Both Andy and Mary told him that they have never seen me this happy since they have known me and I know Mary means it because she wouldn't say something like that unless she did. Andy has been around me since Alejandro and split up 13 years ago and he told Alejandro flat out that this is the happiest he has ever seen me.
I did take him down to meet Dené and a couple of her friends and they really like her also. He also did meet Victor and he seems a little stand offish at first, but I think he is okay with it. I know he is probably saying dammit, it looks like she has really found someone that truely loves her. On top of it all, Joey (Dené and Victors little boy) loves him and I know that means a lot because he hardly speaks to any one he hardly knows. Joey and Alejandro were talking so much with each other especially after the fact that Alejandro told him he likes basketball.
The best thing is that I am going up to Washington next weekend to spend time with him. He offered to pay for my airplane ticket and I took him up on the offer. At first I thought no way because I would be only there for a day and a half. The more I thought about it and enjoyed our time together this past weekend, I realized that I better take him up on the offer.
Well I should finish this now. Until next time...

What A Shot and The Day Is Finally Here

I love this picture that Alejandro sent me shortly after we started talking again. I just can't believe how much power is in the water these days. The more I talk to him the more I want to be with him, which I guess is a good thing.

I think the best thing that I am going to say in this entry is that I finally am going to see him for the first time in 13 years tonight. He lands at Burbank Airport around 5:45pm tonight and I am going to pick him up. We are then going to a football game at NH were we met and take a walk down memory lane. He is the one that mentioned something about taking a walk down memory lane not me and the next thing I know is that we are going to the Home Opener of the football season of our former High School. We never did get to go to a game when we were dating so I guess late is better than never.
I think the best thing is that my parents seem to approve of us dating again. I know my sister told me that she is okay with it and that is because she told my mom the other night that since she never did here anything bad about him back then that it is okay with her. I know he has told his one sister that we are back together and she is just as excited as we are. I get the impression that his oldest sister Rocio really likes me and we have a lot in common so that will be a plus. We are hoping to go and see her at work tonight after the game if it isn't too late.
Well I should get going now. I am just waiting for a co-worker of mine to come back so I can go to lunch. Until next time when I have a picture of the two of us together to post...

What A Ship and A Person

This is a picture of the USS Abraham Lincoln that Alejandro is stationed on in Bremerton, WA. Before I reconnected with him I never thought I would say that grey and silver steel was pretty until now. I think what makes it pretty is the fact that it can do so much. It is an aircraft carrier and if you look very closely you can see the planes on it. Also it is just amazing all the stuff that is on it that a lot of people probably don't realize.
I thought I was going to have to wait until my birthday to see him, but he got a ticket to come down a week from Friday to visit me and see me for the first time in 13 years. I am a little nervous, but I just have to remember that I don't have to really impress him much because he already likes me for who I am and nothing more. Our communication is still very strong bewteen us and all I hope is that it stays that way. We have decided not to really say anything to our families until we know for sure if it is going to work out or not. We have had some heart to hearts over the phone during the weekend and I told him things that he even his ex-fiancé wouldn't even think about doing for him in regards to moving wherever he was stationed. Well I told him that once you marry someone in the service you are married to the service and in order to be happy I would have to go wherever he would be.
Well I should end this now. Until next time...

Great Friends

Boy is this a great shot considering all that has happened in the small amount of the week that we have experienced already. My friend Andy is in this picture with me at a Dodger Game that we went to a couple of weeks ago. In the picture to the right is a good friend of Andy's and an ex of mine Alejandro, that we just connected with after 13 years of not talking to each other. See if it weren't for Alejandro I wouldn't have this good friend by the name of Andy. Andy and I have been wondering what happened to him after boot camp but we never did contact him and if it weren't for the webpage myspace.com I wouldn't have found him. So many feelings came back for Alejandro when I spoke to him over the phone on Saturday. We are going to get together in October when he is taking some leave to come and visit his family and us down here in LA. See right now he is stationed in Washington and will be there for awhile. I know I can't wait to see him in October and I am pretty sure Andy is to, so I will just keep you updated in the months to come about it all. I haven't felt this way towards any one in awhile and I guess that is because I really haven't been looking and that is usually when I meet someone. I didn't think I would feel this way in the past if we ever reconnected so I think he really touched me back then when we were dating. I know that if his visit in October has a good ending I am going to go and visit him in Washington over Thanksgiving weekend. I told him that I would like to come up then and he sounded really excited about that. You never know what might happen between us and I will just keep my fingers crossed because I wouldn't mind to tell you the truth.
Work has calmed down a lot in the last month and I am not having as much of a demand on my work right now, so I am kind of relaxed now. I just wish they would get rid of this one girl and that is because she is doing the work that I could be doing if they didn't hire her because she is someone in this office's daughter. I am kind of mad about that right now, but I don't want to get into it. The computer program is getting easier and easier every day we are using it. They are making some of the requests that we have asked so that is nice. I just wish that when the program went live that everything all the departments asked for happened before hand, but oh well we can't dwell on that any more. We just have to learn from it.
I am ready to start a new chapter in my life which will include a career change in about a year and a half. I have decided to go back to school to become a Vet Tech. I have done some research and it won't take me as long as I thought so I am just going to do it. I have been wanting to do this for years now and I think I am finally going to persue something that I really want to do.
The kittens are doing great. They are getting really big and very demanding. Well I should get back to work. Until next time...

What A Scare

This little girl gave us a scare last week. She is okay now, but last Monday we noticed something under her chin which we thought was a lump, but it wasn't. Wednesday morning we noticed that it was getting bigger, so thought okay we need to take her into the vet to get it checked. Well that night it started drainning and we thought it was an abscess. We made an appointment to have her and her brothers looked at for Thursday so we just kept on cleaning it with water and giving her an antibiotic to help fight any kind of infection that she might have. The next day we took them in and sure enough when they were cleaning up the area they noticed something under the surface. They told us that she should have it removed just to make sure. So she stayed over night at the vets and came home friday. I know Panda and Cubby missed her that night because they were attached to me at the hip. The nice thing is that the vet commented on good they looked health wise. See we usually see this particular vets partner but he had to have a procedure himself, so he won't be in the office for awhile. He told us that these are very healthy looking kittens. I know that made us feel really good since we have been taking care of these guys for almost two months now. Now hopefully we won't have any more emergencies for awhile now with them. I just made an appointment to have a recheck of them next Friday since I will be off that day.
My life has been pretty quiet lately. Nothing really to report. I did go on a blind date a week ago yesterday and I don't think it is possible to be anything more than friends. The main reason is that there is no chemistry between us two and he smokes. See I have a really bad allergy to smoking and since he smokes I am going to have a problem. He also really didn't make a good impression on me. I guess I will just be friends and wait for him to call me again so I can tell him. Well it is almost the end of the day for me, so I better go now. Until next time...

This is Panda

This is Panda, the brother of the other two that I introduced you to yesterday. This is one of his favorite places to lay believe it or not near my mom's sewing machine. He is really cute and one of those cats that like to be in your face at all times like Bandit. Bandit it his buddy and whenever they are sleeping at night they are usually not that far from each. Most of the time they are sleeping right next to each other if Panda isn't on the pillow near my heart. Bandit is the surrogate father of the three kittens and pretty much lets them do anything they want to do to him. He is so good because he was this way with Meechi and JB also. Meechi is getting big also and he turns two next month. I can't believe that he will be two in less than a month. When his birthday comes, I will make sure to include a picture of him in the blog.
My life is pretty good, but I am a little bummed about my friend that I told you about in my last entry. It isn't going to work out between us two and that is because we have some differences and we are just glad to be friends. I had a feeling that it wasn't going to work out, but I wanted to make sure that he was aware of it and now I can move on. I am not really looking for anyone at the moment, but I will just wait and see who and what comes my way.
My parents are going to a High School Reunion of my Fathers the end of this month in Detroit and boy have I been busy making reservations for them. See he just found out about it last week and at first he wasn't going to go and then he told me to look at flights again on Tuesday and sure enough we got them for a decent price considering it is only two weeks away. I guess it has been awhile since they had a reunion, so he is excited to go to this one. I don't know if my mom is, but she is going willing because he puts up with a lot of stuff from my mom especially our cats. I have a funny story that I will share with you next time because my lunch is almost over and I need to finish eating.
Until next time...

These guys are my therapy

Boy has my life been crazy since I wrote in you last. My work load is just as bad as it was back then, but at least I have these two cute faces to come home to every night. This is Cody (grey and white one) and Cubby (dark one). There is another one that I am going to have to include his picture in my next entry. Right now I don't have any pictures with them all together. Cody is a little girl and Cubby is a little boy. These two came to us a little over a week after I wrote in you last. The third one Panda (next entry) came almost a month later. They aren't as demanding as Meechi was when we found him and at least this time they have each other to keep company and busy when we are at work.
My personal life has been kind of crazy lately. I have reconnected with some people from High School and there is this one guy that I have liked since High School and I thought I was giving him the signals that I liked him and according to another friend of mine he had no clue. I made the innitiative on Sunday in an email to just come flat out and tell him, but I haven't heard back, so I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing. I just hoping that he feels the same way because our two other friends says that it is pretty obvious to them that I like him, but who knows if he feels the same way. Since I am single right now, I am enjoying life and having a great time with it.
Besides these little guys coming into my life the last time I did an entry. My sister was here right around Father's Day. We had a very nice visit and we had some quality time together until we had a stupid fight the night before she left. Well I am using my lunch to d

What A Week

As you can probably tell that I have been extremely busy since I left for my trip to New York. This is one the many pictures that I took on my trip. I didn't take many of people but I did take a lot of pictures of scenery and the sights. This was taken at the American Natural History Museum which was one of the places that we went to. The main place that I really wanted to go to was Ground Zero and I did that the day after this picture. Bryan parents are very nice people and in fact his father reminds me of my uncle Dave. I am going to have to do a split picture between his dad Geoff and my uncle Dave and you can see why. I don't think it is so much is looks, but I think that it is his size and his personality.
Work has been crazy for almost a month now. Our new program is now live but it so wasn't ready for us to use yet. We have had some problems with it but it seems like it has been fixed. We are still waiting for a couple reports that we have asked for, but haven't even heard a status update on them. I just find it interesting that our main boss Arlene asks for something changed in 30 days, but we still haven't gotten a report that two of us has asked for since the beginning of February. This becomes a hassle for my job because until they do this report they I have asked for I have to manually enter a log every day which takes a lot of my time to do since I can't just copy and past it into an excel file like I used to be able to do.
Well it is almost time for me to start work for the day, so I better go now. Until next time...

Only A Couple of Days to Go

I thought I better write in you before I forget to before my trip to see my sister Cyndy. We leave for NY this coming Friday. I just spoke to her a little bit ago and she seems excited that it is only a couple of days away. I know I have so much to do between work and my personal stuff before I leave. We are in the middle of another buying trip here at work and we are also about to start a new program so it is a little hectic. I am hoping by the time I come back we will be working on the new program because then I won't be overwhelmed with my work since the office manager will be entering most of the worksheets.
The only bummer about going to NY when we are is that we are missing the little guy in this picture with my sister and I his first birthday which is the day we leave. We saw him last Sunday for Easter and he is getting so big. I have a recent picture of him and if I have time to download it before we leave I will.
I have so much to do between now and the end of the day that I better go now. Until next time...

What A Game

What can I say about my Dodgers. This picture was taken at the Opening Day this past Monday and was taken by Mary's boyfriend Lee. The lady you don't know is our good friend Yvette. We had a great time even though they lost the game, but they only lost by one point.
I am going down to visit Dené again this coming weekend. I am taking Amtrak down and she is going to pick me up from the train station at Santa Ana. We are going to her niece's and nephew's birthday party but that is fine because I made a scarf for her and I wanted to give it to her not knowing that her birthday was the same as my mom's. Speaking of which I need to get her a card at least over the weekend. She always tells me not to spend my money on a card and I need to buy one this year because with all that she has done for me since my whole car situation she deserves it.
Well I should try to get some work done. I don't have much on my desk right now, but I should try to do some more testing on our new program. Until next time...
