What A Game

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my friend Mary and the Los Angeles Dodgers. They won the game and series against the Houston Astros. I think what made it even more special was the fact that they were celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1st World Series Championship of the franchise. They had a whole bunch of players and other team members from the season there and that was very moving. Jeff Weaver pitched one hell of a game and deserved to stay in the whole game at which he did awesomely. Roger Clemens who was pitching for Houston wasn't that great yesterday, but it was pretty cool to see the match up for a change. Now I am trying to get things done before the end of the day because I won't be in the office tomorrow. If at all possible, I would like to leave my desk completely empty so when I come on Wednesday I won't have anything that was left over from today. I think I might have a couple of things, but that isn't too bad as my desk being a mess. We will see how that goes. Now I have to figure out what I am going to Michael for his birthday. I guess it all depends on if my house sitting job client gives me a check that I can cash tomorrow because I don't have much money right now and I really could use some of the money that she will owe me now. She is pretty good about giving me the money before she leaves and I am pretty sure she will do the same this time. Well I should go now. Until next time...

Not Much Going On

Now I know how new mothers feel when they aren't with the babies for the first time. I think this is the longest amount of time I haven't been home since we got the little guy in this picture last year. I go home every couple of days, but I seem to miss him even more so. I wasn't planning on going home until Saturday, but I think I am going to go home tonight for a little bit to spend time with him.
We are caught up here at work, so I am trying to find projects to do so I am not sitting hear doing nothing. I have a couple of things I could be doing, but if I do them all today, then I will have the same problem tomorrow of having nothing to do. The training for our new program is in a couple of weeks and I can't seem to get the point accross to one of the pd managers, that I am not going to have any extra time to assign item #'s for her when our main boss is on vacation. She seems to think that I am not going to be busy then, but she doesn't know what is going to happen then. On top of that I am going to be training someone ina couple of weeks to do my job when we are in training and also testing so I won't have to put all of my work on hold which won't be good since we are going to be getting ready for Arlene (main boss) will be going to China for three weeks. I am hoping she will send the other set of worksheets next week, so I can concentrate on that set next week and be done with hers for the time being.
I am really looking forward to my day off next Tuesday. I know it is going to mean a lot to my godson that I am going to be there. I think if I can pull it off as a surprise it will mean even more. See I have never been able to see him on his birthday since I became his godmother. After all that happened last year, no one was able to be with him for his birthday since he was in Montana and now everyone that loves him is going to be there and I know he is going to be just shocked.
Well I should get one of my projects off my desk today because then I will feel a little more productive today. Well I gotta go now. Until next time...

A Great Way to Start and End the Weekend

What a great weekend. I spent most of my day on Saturday with the three guys that are in this picture. I spent most of the day with Michael and I think the best thing is that he is doing a heck of a lot better. Victor had Joey all weekend and Joey was a little shy that day, but at least he didn't start being a brat when I was in Victor's room talking to him. Victor didn't seem to be himself that day, but I know he is having problems with his girlfriend, so that might have to something with it. I know that he is frustrated and wants to be with someone and I don't think she is in a part of her life that it would be good to bring him into her life especially with her family.

I think the best part of the weekend is that I decided to do for his birthday next Tuesday. I got the idea of going down there as a surprise and I got my wish. Sandy my supervisor gave me the day off so I can do that. I called my aunt Patti and she thought it was a great idea and is excited that I am going to do that for him. I can't wait to see the look on his face when I show up that day because I told him that I wouldn't be able to be there for his birthday and I knew he was kind of down for that, but this will make his day for sure. See my supervisor knows all that is going on with him and can understand that the more I can spend time with him the better. I better take advantage of it now because starting next month I am pretty sure I will be busy until the end of the year. On top of that, I am going to have to train some one on how to do my job so we can start testing and being trained for a new program that I am going to be using by the end of the year.

The one thing that I am really happy about is that Sandy came to the conclusion that we are going to need a temp to help us during the time of the testing for the new program because they want me to just concentrate on that testing and without help there is no way possible for that to happen. It will make my life a heck of a lot easier when this happens and hopefuly it won't take too long for the testing to happen because if it does then I am screwed because after the trip in October there is no chance of me being able to do any kind of testing and so forth. Well I better go now. Until next time...

Great Family

What can I say about the picture above. This was taken a couple of years ago, but I thought it was appropriate because my parents are celebrating their Anniversary this Thursday. From left to right, Mary (my good friend for 8 years), Gayle (my sister's best friend for over 20 years), mom Caryn and dad Larry, myself, and then my sister Cyndy on the end. There is only one person that is missing that would make this picture complete, but he can't be with us. That would be my brother David who passed away 19 years ago on Aug 4th. We all miss my brother, but what can we do but go on with our lives and remember the great experiences that we had with him and what we can look forward to in our after life. These last two years have been rough for me, but all I know if it weren't for my faith, great friends and family, I don't know where I would be now. I appreciate all that everyone has done for my family and in my life. I can only appreciate it and try to return the favor when I am able to.
Well today is my cousin Dene birthday and boy is she a great friend and cousin by marriage. I owe her a lot of thanks for everything that she did for me last year. I don't think I will ever be able to thank her enough in my eyes for all that she had done for me. I love her son Joey and maybe eventually Joey and I will be close to the point that Dene could leave me with him for a period of time, so she could go and have a night away when it is her weekend. See Joey is spoiled and is used to having mom around all the time and I think it has been too long for him to be dependent on his mommy. He just turned 5 years of age and is still sleeping with her. I don't think that is healthy, but there is nothing I can do because I have made suggestions, but she doesn't seem to want to take them, so I can only do what I can and that is being there for her and she will learn the hard way if and when she ever gets married again or has a live in boyfriend.
Well I should go now. Until next time...

My Little Boy

What can I say about the little guy in this picture. Tomorrow marks a year that we have had him. He has brought so much laughter into my life this past year and boy am I glad he came to us. We don't know whatever happened to his mommy but he has a special place in my heart. He loves to sit in the kitchen sink even though my dad doesn't like it when he is in it.
Today is my dad's birthday. My mom has to work late, so I am going to make him dinner. I hope he likes it. He has been off of work for a month now because of an injury and I know he has to be bored. I am hoping to convince him to go to a movie with me over the weekend. He so deserves it and even if that means me not getting any credit for it on my movie club thing, then I will.
Well I gotta go now. I will talk to you soon....

What A Great Weekend

What can I say. Strange things do happen, but before I get to that, let me tell you about my weekend. The afternoon that I had with Dene and the girls was a great time. The Karaoke place sucked, but what can we do about that. Debbie, Michelle, Dene and I went to the movies, dinner at Ruby's on the pier and sat and chatted for a little bit after the movie waiting for our table and in the car to and from.
What surprised me was what happened yesterday at Joey's party. Victor my ex is Joey's father and we had a nasty break up last year. I said things that I didn't mean to be as mean as they were and vise versa. Victor and I had a chance to talk yesterday and it seems like nothing has ever changed with our friendship and relationship. I think going through what we did helped both of us. I am glad that I was able to be there for him when Michael found out that he was his father and helped him through some other things. I know we will never get back together, but at least I know that we can joke around with each other no matter what happened last year. Now if he could only find someone he can enjoy to be with and settle down without getting into trouble he got into with Dene.
Now I just experienced something really hard. The lady that we hired for an office assistant didn't work out we had to let go today. She just wasn't catching on and we couldn't handle it any more. It has been 4 days and she just wasn't getting it. The nice thing is that we are going to have our former Office Managers sister help us out with that position until we can find someone to replace her permenantly. I think the hardest part was that she was crying when she said goodbye to me. Oh well, it will make the office go a little smoother and we won't need to baby sit her any more.
Well until next time...

What can I say. I had a busy weekend. I was out sick on Friday for the party of Michelle's and boy was that a lot of fun. I met some really nice people and the Bon Jovi Tribute band was awesome. I took a lot of pictures and can't wait to share them with everyone. In fact, going to this party gave me the idea that I should have an animal costume party for my 30th Birthday which is going to be in 2 years. We will see what comes up between now and then.
We couldn't do much after that because Dene had Joey last weekend, but this coming weekend, we are going to have a girls night out on Saturday for Dene's birthday. Michelle, Debbie (Dene's sister), Janet (Debbie Friend) and I are going out. We are going to see a movie, have dinner on the pier at Ruby's and then go to Tom Kat which is a Karaoke Place so that should be a lot of fun. On Sunday, we are going to have a birhtday party for Joey. It is going to be very interesting to see what happens because Victor my ex is going to be there and I don't know how he is going to act.

Well my co-worker is bugging me about going to get lunch. I will talk to you next time...
